Spearhead in Water
$125.00
This is a carving of a spear head surrounded by water. The Inuit’s ancient ancestors and the present-day Greenlanders at Qaanaaq still use it during the annual whale hunt. After the whale has been harpooned and has been worn out by pulling the air bladder attached to the harpoon line, it comes to the surface. At that time, several hunters in kayaks, armed with spears complete the kill and tow the carcus to shore for the sharing ceremony.
